May 21, 2012 at 3:59 PM

From Jan 2013 it will be a legal requirement for motorcycle riders to wear Hi Viz Vests or Jackets while riding their motor bikes.

It has been compulsory for car, van and lorry drivers to have a hi visibility vest or jacket in the vehicle with them for sometime now and these have to be worn if you get out of your car in the event of an accident or breakdown.

Well from January 1st 2013 it will also to be compulsory for Motorbike riders to not only have them on whilst standing at the roadside but to be wearing one at all times when riding. This new rule goes for pillion passengers as well and includes 3 wheeled motor tricycles and their passengers.

This new law applys to any motorbike over 125cc.
